Drains & Gutters offer a comprehensive unblocking service of all types of Drains and Gutters throughout West Kent & East Sussex.

High pressure Drain Jetters are used for drain cleaning.  Drills and hoovers used to clear blocked sinks, basins, urinals & baths.  High reach gutter vacuum systems are used to suck out debris and clear blocked gutters & blocked downpipes.

Ladders are used to access gutters if required for small minor repairs.

Our investigation service offers Drain tracing, Dye Testing, and CCTV Drain Surveys to identify cause of regular Clogged Drains, and provides color images of defects, such as Cracked pipes, Fat/debris build Root infiltration, and broken/collapsed Drains.

A blocked drain or gutter can overflow for a long period before being noticed, by this time it could be too late. Overflowing drains & gutters can cause damp and in some cases subsidence.

HELP & ADVICE

Blocked sinks  and blocked gullies. Sink blockages mainly occur due to food waste and fat deposits.  A sieve helps prevent food waste entering system. Washing up liquid down the plug hole, running water for ten seconds, ensures your sink waste pipe and sink gully is left with clean water and soap suds to break up any remaining fat deposits. 

Blocked wcs , and blocked drains , are mainly caused due to three things,

1.  misuse 

Flushing Large volumes of Paper, if use a lot of paper, flush half at a time, don't use thick paper, don't flush any types of wet wipes, 

don't wash dog waste into drains.

2. Water .

Insufficient water causes blockages, water is required to enable solids to flow, water saver cisterns highly not advised.

3.Design

Poorly installed, poor condition, damaged and root invested drains prevents water and solids flowing, thus causing blockages.

Preventative cctv survey inspections identify possible faults, and we strongly advise home buyers to have a cctv home buyer survey. Don't inherit someone elses issues.

Blocked gullies, Blocked downpipes , mainly are caused due to soil washing into gully, or moss collecting in gutters and washing down into downpipes and gully. Regular gutter cleaning , will help prevent blocked downpipes,  prevent blocked gutters and help against blocked gullies. 

Gutters, We are continuously removing added items installed to gutters.  Covers may prevent large moss entering, however the soil still enters and grass grows through cover and blocking gutter.  Brushes catch leaves etc so do not enter gutters, brushes cause a build up of leaves backing up on roof.

Downpipes   cones are often the cause of blockages, moss collects around top causing gutters to block.  Drains and gutters believe all downpipes should enter a gully, which is easily maintained before entering underground to a drain. The second most common cause of blockages is screwing joints together, as the screw enters downpipe causing large debris to catch and block
